Concert Events 2008

Pre-concert fun

Don't wait for the concert to begin to come out to Longleaf Park. Picnickers are welcome, and for those who wish to go all out, prizes will be given for the best table decorations. Vendors are on hand with official Music at McClellan merchandize; t-shirts, caps, can coolers and more. Strolling minstrels and jugglers can be seen wandering the concert grounds and Calhoun County Sheriffs mounted pose will be lending a hand wherever needed.

Returning to the Longleaf Series will be JAXPAN, a steel drum band with a repertoire as colorful as their Hawaiian shirts. You'll be able to enjoy their music at the Mountain Longleaf Festival on April 19th and before the concert on June 7 (concert #3). To learn more about JAXPAN >>

In the 10 years since the release of the first Harry Potter book, the secret wizarding world has been revealed in 7 books that have sold more than 325 million copies, and 5 movies that have spawned a rush on tall hats and wands at the costume store. Spend an evening with some of your favorite characters.

What would a night of Harry Potter music and fun be without witches, wizards and owls? Dan Spaulding from the Anniston Museum of Natural History and a few of his winged friends will visit Longleaf Park on May 31st.

Music at McClellan will once again have an explosive conclusion on June 16th. The artillery that is being assembled for the 1812 Overture, the finale of the 2007 concert series, is guaranteed to light up the sky and get your heart pumping. Learn more >>

Who are those white-faced, white-gloved entertainers? They can't tell you, but we can. They are members of CAST (the Community Actors Studio Theater) and are always a welcome addition to Music at McClellan. Find out more about CAST >>
